수질환경실험실은 차세대 도시 물관리 시스템을 구축하는 것을 목표로 수처리, 수질 모니터링, 자원회수, 퇴적물 관리 기술 개발에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 주요 최근 연구주제로는 멤브레인 접촉기를 통한 하폐수 내 암모니아 회수, 오염물질 처리를 위한 고성능 흡착제 개발, 흡착 시스템에서의 미량오염물질 거동 메커니즘 분석 등이 있습니다. 또한 퇴적물 내 오염물질 거동의 모니터링 기술, 오염 퇴적물 원위치 정화기술을 개발하고 있습니다.

The Water Quality and Environment Laboratory (WQEL) studies water and wastewater treatment, water quality monitoring, resource recovery, and sediment management technologies with a vision of establishing the next-generation urban water management system. The major current research topics include nitrogen recovery using membrane contactors, high-performance sorbent development for pollutant treatment, and mechanistic analysis of micropollutants in sorption processes. Techniques currently under developed also include those for monitoring the fate of sediment contaminants and in-situ remediation of contaminated sediments.
